Second Year: Sooke Region Farmer Bursary 2025/26
Sooke Region Food CHI is pleased to offer an annual $1,500 farm bursary program to
support local farmers in making critical, sustainable capital improvements to their operations, strengthening our region’s local food sovereignty and resilience.
Eligibility:
To qualify for the bursary, applicants must be:

A commercial food farmer located in the East Sooke to Port Renfrew area.

Generating a gross revenue exceeding $10,000.
Funds must be used for infrastructure or capital investments related to food production. Both new and used materials are acceptable, provided there is proof of purchase.
Please Note: This bursary is not intended to cover regular operating costs.

Selection criteria:
A panel of three jurors from Sooke Food CHI will evaluate applications based on:

Project impact
Applicants who received the Farmer Bursary in the previous year are not eligible for funding in the current intake.​
