Our Society Sooke Region Food CHI Society is a registered, non-profit society consisting of a group of concerned individuals, producers and consumers, from Sooke District, Otter Point, East Sooke, and Shirley. We are developing a Food Strategy for the Sooke Region. Our Vision That all citizens of our coastal region will have the opportunity, knowledge and resources to produce, acquire, eat, enjoy and celebrate nutritious local food. We envision a vibrant, sustainable food culture and cuisine rooted in viable local production, historical and First Nations knowledge and environmental stewardship. Citizen needs and desires for local, affordable, healthy food and cuisine will inform food and agricultural policy, legislation and regulations at all levels of government.
